Bongo Fury Review and Giveaway

Mommy and I have been experiencing a busy couple of months. There have been several projects on the go and many issues to take care of. We’re still trying to sort our way through it all and the process has been exhausting and sometimes stressful.

When mommy feels stressed she likes to read and I am already an avid reader even though I’m not even 2 years old yet. Reading is a great way to decompress after a long day. Books can be playful, exciting, or soothing but they always offer a wonderful escape and an excuse for some quiet time.

I always make sure that I set aside some time for reading. There is a point in every day that I can be found in a quite corner of the house flipping through a book and reading out loud. Mommy thinks I’m not doing it quite right and that the words come out a bit wrong. I’ve seen mommy read enough times to know that I’m doing it the way it should be done.

Peachy reading her book
Carving out some me time

Lately during my reading time mommy has been doing a bit of reading of her own. She has been working on a two-part book called Bongo Fury. Last week mommy finished the first book and I can tell that she enjoyed it. Mommy hasn’t been reading this book out loud like she does so many others, but she did tell me a bit about it. From mommy’s description I think I might like to read it myself.

Bongo Fury is the story of a man named Jimmy Black who is in the midst of turning his life around while doing his best to take care of his family. Just when it seems that his life has found the balance he has been looking for, what should have been an innocent favour for a friend takes an unexpected turn. Jimmy finds himself catapulted back into the lifestyle he has been trying to leave behind. Will Jimmy find a way out of this mess or is fate conspiring to drag him deeper into a life of crime?

Bongo Fury was written by Simon Maltman. He is a best-selling crime fiction author from Northern Ireland. Simon’s other books include Return Run, A Chaser on the Rocks, and More Faces: Crime Short Stories from Belfast. If you’re looking for more information you can visit Simon on Facebook or on Twitter.

Bongo Fury sounds like an exciting story full of action and dark humour. While the story does appeal to me, I’m not sure if I can relate to the main character in Bongo Fury. Clearly I am in my prime and not ready to settle down and fly straight. I’m a rebel looking for trouble and whether I’m leaping head first off the couch or running out into the road, danger doesn’t deter me.

The first book in the Bongo Fury series leaves off on a bit of a cliff hanger and mommy has been eager to get started on the second book. Perhaps I should give the book a chance and find out what the hype is about. What do you think? Does Bongo Fury appeal to you? Is it a book you would be interested in reading?

Simon and I are partnering up to give you the opportunity to win your own copy of Bongo Fury. With Simon’s generosity, I am able to provide you with the best odds of winning than any of my previous giveaways. One lucky winner will receive the grand prize of a signed copy of Bongo Fury, while five runner-up winners will get their very own e-book. That’s a total of six winners all in one giveaway! • I have to admit I don’t read half as much as I’d like to now that I’m a mum. But my new year’s resolution is to going to be to change that. It’s not enough just reading What The Ladybird Heard and all my daughters other favourites. I need some book love too. #blogstravaganza

    • It’s easier if you read little bits at a time throughout the day. Just a page or two here and there when you have a few minutes to spare. Then it’s not this big thing you can’t find time for. Good luck.

    • It’s definitely a mum and dad book. Unless your littles are very small since at that age it doesn’t really matter what you read to them. Thanks for visiting.

  • Very clever the way you included that reveiw into your peachy diary! The book sounds intriguing, I wish I had more hours in the day just to be able to read more, I also am finally coming to the conclusion that I will have to add an e-reader to my Christmas wishlist! šŸ™‚ #Blogstravaganza
