Read MoreWhy are kids such finicky eaters? As parents we go out of our way to cook healthy meals for our little ones only to be stuck at the table with barely poked-at plates. Most of us have been there, and it’s a tough spot to be in.
As a mom of two, I’ve had my fair share of difficult dinners and bothersome breakfasts. That’s what inspired my collection of kid-friendly recipes that have been tried, tested, and approved at our table. It’s been a journey of trial and error, but I have finally found a repertoire of dishes that my kids actually enjoy eating.
I opt for organic and wholesome food where I can. It’s not always possible, and that’s ok. I believe in feeding my children nutritious meals that they will actually enjoy eating, and sometimes that means compromises have to be made. My goal is to make mealtime a positive and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
My collection of recipes began with homemade baby food. As my littles grew, I started making recipes for toddlers and bigger kids. The collection of recipes on this page is still growing as I continue to experiment with new ingredients and flavors.
Every family is different. I encourage parents to browse my recipes, try them out, and tweak them to the tastes of your little ones. Sometimes simple substitutions can make all the difference.
I love to hear feedback on my recipes, how you have made them your own, and any tips or recipes parents may want to share. Your ideas might inspire something new and help another parent for whom mealtime is a battle of wills.
Before we begin, just a few notes on our baby food cooking style. We use organic produce whenever possible. We also try to limit processed ingredients and rely on whole foods for our meals.
Most of the cooking is done by steaming. We prefer to steam in a steamer pot, but you can also use a steamer basket or an electric steamer. Steaming helps retain the nutrients and natural flavors of the ingredients.
Many of these recipes will yield more than one serving. We recommend freezing the leftovers in individual meal-size portions.
Now on to the good stuff. Here are some of our favorite baby food purees. Each one of these recipes has passed Peachy and Clementine’s thorough taste test.
Whether you’re transitioning from purees to solid foods or embracing the baby-led weaning journey, these recipes are designed to delight even the fussiest eaters. Crafted thoughtfully for tiny hands and mouths, but we haven’t forgotten the parents left with the clean-up! These nutritious and delicious finger foods are perfect for little ones learning to self-feed.
Not only are these recipes perfect for mom and baby to share, but they can also be easily scaled up to serve the whole family. Ideal for snacks or lunch boxes, these easy-to-make dishes are bursting with flavor and guaranteed to become family favorites.
