Back to the Grind
Over the past few weeks I have been neglecting my blog. Regular readers might have found this unusual as I am rarely absent and I generally have new posts several times per week. For the first time ever, I have taken a bit of a break from blogging.
Daddy had some vacation time accumulated which allowed him to take a full two weeks off work. Vacations are like weekends except longer. I like weekends because that’s when mommy, daddy, and I spend entire days together. Vacations are even better because we get to be a family all the time and we’re not too exhausted from working to get out and enjoy our time together.
Last year daddy took some vacation time in the summer too and I still managed to keep up with my blogging schedule. Since we didn’t plan on leaving town this year either, it was my full intention to continue blogging right through. What I didn’t consider is that I’m bigger this year and able to do a lot more fun activities.
We had our days packed full of family fun and whatever time was left over I needed to recuperate from all that activity. There were several days when I was too busy to even have my mid-day nap. It was exhausting but exhilarating and I loved every fun-filled moment.
Even though we didn’t stray too far from home and we were in our own beds every night, we did have some incredible adventures and made a few discoveries. It’s amazing how many great places exist within reasonable distance of our home town that we never made the effort to visit. Some we never even knew existed but a quick search on Google maps can reveal all sorts of local spots just waiting to be explored.
I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing things I did and the incredible places I’ve been. Our camera is full of pictures that are slowly being transferred to the computer. I’m so excited to show you my photos and tell you all about the adventures I’ve had over the past couple of weeks.
I don’t want to give too much away but I met some furry friends, saw a lot of pretty flowers, discovered new places to play, and so much more. There were several firsts for me as well. I had my first nautical adventure, amusement park ride experience, and my first taste of soft-serve ice cream right off the cone. I also found the biggest sandbox right next to the largest water park ever! Mommy said it wasn’t a sandbox or water park, but that’s a post for another day.
My blogging schedule is quickly filling up with all the ideas I have for new blog posts. I have at least half a dozen posts in the works and several more bubbling away in my mind. I’m also working on some brand new giveaways that I’m very excited about. It’s going to be an exciting few weeks over here.
This week we’re all back to work and it’s been a busy week indeed. Turns out that a lot can happen in a couple of weeks when you’re not there to keep things under control. It seems that the work keeps coming even when you’re away. Somehow the rest of the world didn’t seem aware that it was vacation time.
I may have my hands full with all the work I have to catch up on and all the new posts I’m excited to complete, but I do feel ready to take it all on. This vacation was just what I needed. I feel relaxed, inspired, and ready to come back better than ever. If you haven’t taken a holiday for a while, I thoroughly recommend it. Get ready world, Peachy the blogging baby big girl is back!
Ooh what a lovely post! It sounds like you had a lovely time. Can’t wait to see the photos and hear more 🙂
It was an amazing time for the whole family. Too bad vacations don’t last forever. We’ve been busy working on some new blog material. First up will be a new giveaway that we’re really excited about. Just can’t wait to share it with the world. Thanks for visiting us.
My kids are grown now, but Ido the same. At times it’s so important to be in the moment with your family and then you return buzzing with material x #Blogstravaganza
It’s the first time we took a vacation from blogging. It felt weird at first but definitely feeling refreshed. Thanks for visiting.
