Happy Holidays
Dear Readers
It’s time to celebrate the holidays and I am having a much needed break at home with mommy and daddy. As I prepare to partake in the festivities, I want to take a moment to wish my blogging family a most wonderful holiday. I hope you will spend this time surrounded by loves ones, with your favourite food to eat, and a mountain of presents to open.
My mommy told me about one of our family traditions that I would like to share with you. It is a lovely sentiment and I hope you will enjoy it too. Every Christmas there is a lavish meal prepared and each guest has a space at the table, but there is always one extra setting.
This space is reserved for any unexpected visitor. It is a symbolic gesture to remind us of the inclusiveness of Christmas. The holidays are a time to gather together and remind each other that whatever our differences may be, we’re all in this together.
This spot at our table is for those who can’t be there with us in body but are there in spirit. It is for the people who have nobody to share the holidays with and need a place to belong. Quite simply, this space at our table is for anyone who may need it and anyone we wish we could share the holidays with.
This year we are hosting the main dinner at our house and mommy will set an extra place at our table. As we sit around the table I will look to the one empty spot and imagine that you are there. My blogging family and my home family gathered together around one table for a special night. That’s my Christmas wish this year.
Wherever you are, I hope you are surrounded by all those you love and that you’re making beautiful memories. Season’s greetings and best wishes to you and your loved ones. I hope you have a truly magical holiday season.
