Happy Mother’s Day!

Today we celebrate our mommies for all the great things they do for us. Like staying up all night with us when we’re scared and being patient with us when we scream for reasons known only to ourselves. Nobody loves us like our mommies do. But mommies need love too, so today we show them how much they mean to us.

This year is extra special for us because this is my mommy’s first Mother’s Day. I’m too little to tell my mommy how much I love her and I don’t want my mommy to be sad. I need your help. Please help me let her know how important she is to me. Wish my mommy a happy Mother’s Day by reaching out to us through email, Twitter, Facebook, or the comments section.

I love my mommy

I would like to buy my mommy flowers, but I don’t have any money yet. I wish I could make mommy a card, but I don’t yet have the manual dexterity to glue macaroni to a piece of construction paper. What can I do for my mommy today? I know, I will write mommy a letter.

Dear Mommy

Only 5 months ago I was as close to you as a baby peach could be. You housed me in your body every minute of every day. You were my universe. We were inseparable.

Now that I’m out in the world I’m growing bigger and changing every day. I’m getting more independent and sometimes I like to explore on my own. You tell me that you’re proud of me and that you like to see me grow.

I know that secretly a part of you is sad because you know my independence means you’ll have to let me go. I can sense it in the sigh that escapes while you’re putting away yet another outfit that I outgrew. I know you’re wondering how much longer you’ll be able to hold me close before I’m wiggling out of your arms to run off in search of adventure.

I can’t promise to be little forever and there will be times when I’ll want to be on my own. That doesn’t mean I love you any less. As time goes on I find I only love you more. It doesn’t mean that I don’t need you any longer. In fact, as I make new discoveries, I’m more in need of your guidance.

You are more than my mommy. Your are my play yard when I want to have fun, and you are my mattress when I get tired. You are the pantry when I am hungry, and you are my entertainment centre when I am bored. Your arms are like a porch were I can sit and feel safe as I watch the world. You are home. Wherever my adventures may take me, I will always come back to you.

You will always be my mommy and no matter how big I get, I will always be your little peach.

Love, Peachy.

Happy Mother's Day
Thank you for being my mommy
